ACHIEVE Your Family's Best Vision: Children and Adult Eye Exams
ACHIEVE offers the following services:
Pediatric Vision Exams
Performing vision exams for young children is an area in which we excel. We identify and treat core issues before they disrupt children's learning opportunities and personal growth.
The American Optometric Association recommends that children get their eyes (and we go beyond just the eyes) checked at the following intervals:
• Between 6-12 months old (See InfantSEE® Vision Evaluations, below)
• Age 3 (or when a child begins preschool)
• Age 5 (or when beginning Kindergarten)
• Then once each year from ages 6-18

Dyslexia & Processing Evaluation
Visual information processing, auditory processing, speech/language development, and phonological awareness/processing are commonly categorized as or assumed to be “Dyslexia.”
When parents, teachers, and medical professionals have exhausted their resources trying to discover the solutions to struggling students’ obstacles — including confusion surrounding Dyslexia — ACHIEVE provides insights that quickly eliminate common misconceptions and illuminate core issues and their solutions.
While this Dyslexia & Processing Evaluation does NOT officially diagnose Dyslexia or other specific learning disabilities, it DOES identify the disruptions in reading and learning processes that are addressable.
Once this evaluation is complete, we can connect you with the services and resources needed to help your child/student develop a more successful reading and learning experience.
Dyslexia, learning disabilities, and other reading challenges usually stem from barriers in the sensory and processing systems needed for efficient reading and learning.
Identifying the specific barriers that are keeping your child from reading or performing academically to their full potential can demystify the “Dyslexia” puzzle and provide solutions to help your child thrive in and beyond the classroom.

Vision Therapy
We see it every day...
As children's learning challenges and other struggles subside — allowing them to more fully enjoy their lives — their families' lives also improve.
Vision therapy is the most effective path to sustainable results for many vision and other processing issues.
Vision-Related Reading/Learning Challenges
80% of learning happens through the visual system.
Research indicates that 25% of children have an undiagnosed vision-related reading or learning challenge that prevents them from performing to their full potential.
Vision Therapy retrains the brain and eyes to be able to guide reading, writing, and learning with greater success and less frustration and discomfort.
Treatment of Eye Turns & Lazy Eyes
• No patching required.
• An effective non-surgical treatment option for those with eye turns and lazy eyes.
• Most children can avoid eye muscle surgery to correct their Strabismus or Amblyopia.
• Children and adults of any age can successfully improve their vision through vision therapy.
Neuro-Visual Rehabilitation (post-concussion/stroke/brain surgery/TBI)
Sports-related accidents, car accidents, falls, etc. can all result in head/brain injuries (even if you do not lose consciousness).
When the brain is injured, it significantly disrupts our ability to see, read, process information, and function in life.
Many concussion-related symptoms (headaches, eyestrain, poor stamina for reading, light sensitivity, motion sensitivity/sickness) can continue long after the injury.
Vision Therapy can significantly improve an individual’s quality of life after suffering from any brain injury (concussion, car accident, stroke, brain surgery).

Headaches / Migraines
Visual headaches/migraines can commonly be caused by stress/strain on the visual system.
This is becoming increasingly common in the technological world in which we live.
Visual headaches or migraines most commonly occur in the afternoon or evening, after you have been using your eyes throughout the day.
They occur more frequently on school or workdays than on weekends.
We offer specialized glasses, prisms, and tints that can significantly reduce eyestrain, headaches, and migraines.
