Meet the Achieve Family

Dr. Curtis is a humble and dedicated optometrist who has devoted his career to the specialized field of vision therapy and rehabilitation. After graduating from Southern College of Optometry in 2015 he joined Child & Family EyeCare Center, now known as ACHIEVE Family Vision. In 2020 he completed a fellowship with the Optometric Vision Development and Rehabilitation Association, furthering his commitment to help all who struggle with specialized vision challenges. He enjoys mentoring other optometry students and teaching about the connection between vision and learning. Before attending optometry school Dr. Curtis graduated from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah where he discovered his passion for BYU creamery ice cream.

Dr. Curtis and his wife Amy are busy raising six talented children. When he isn't helping patients, on a date with Amy, or wrestling his kids you can find him either at his drum set, practicing the cello, or playing with Breeze their shaggy Old English Sheepadoodle.

Dr. Gardner graduated from the Arizona College of Optometry at Midwestern University. Prior to joining ACHIEVE Family Vision, Dr. Gardner completed a residency in Pediatric Optometry, Vision Therapy and Neuro-Visual Rehabilitation. During his residency training, Dr. Gardner received special training in Pediatric Eye Care, Vision-Related Learning Challenges, Treatment of Strabismus (eye turns) and Amblyopia (Lazy Eyes), Myopia Management (how to slow down the progression of nearsightedness in children), and Concussion/Brain Injury Rehabilitation.

Dr. Gardner played a pivotal role in the development of ACHIEVE’s Dyslexia & Processing Evaluation that helps guide families of struggling students to the specific resources needed to address their child’s reading/learning challenges, and is an active member of the Learning Disabilities Association of Utah.

Dr. Gardner is fluent in Spanish (Él habla Español). In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, playing the piano, and spendi

Dr. Christopher Pope joined the practice in May 2022 after graduating from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. Prior to optometry school he attended Utah Valley University and received a bachelor’s degree in biology. He is a Utah native.

Dr. Pope seeks to provide exceptional vision care as he enjoys building connections and educating patients on their individual needs. His interest in vision therapy jumpstarted when he rotated through ACHIEVE Family Vision (formerly Child & Family EyeCare Center) as a fourth-year optometry student. This fascination of the visual system continues to soar! He is grateful to be able to be part of such an amazing team! Él habla Español.

Dr. Pope and his wife enjoy spending time with family, going on long walks, and riding their motorcycle.

The great examples in Tahnee's life have inspired her to seek better understanding of communication, vision, well being and individual worth. With each story she has heard, her curiosity grows as she seeks to find better ways to spend her short time on earth. She is grateful for each opportunity to learn and expand her knowledge of those she meets and, most especially, her loved ones.

“It's not how much we give, but how much love we put into giving.”
